Deep Tissue Massage

procedure-header-image

Deep tissue is a therapeutic massage technique that focuses on the deeper layers of muscle tissue. It aims to release the chronic patterns of tension in the body through slow strokes and deep pressure. As it is aimed to activate deep muscles, therapists use not only their hands but also arms and elbows. It might be a bit painful, but the benefits are worth the initial discomfort.

Deep tissue massage is recommended by many doctors as a treatment option. It is especially helpful for clients with chronically tense and contracted areas, limited mobility, tennis elbow, sciatica, lower back or neck and shoulders chronic pain, or that are recovering from injuries.

Some clients may experience swelling and inflammation in the muscles after a deep tissue massage. This is quite common with other massages as well. If this happens, drinking a lot of water and applying ice on the affected area could help reduce the swelling. Please see our pricing in the services section.
